Important Safety Notice
Dear Customer,
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), R&D International, Inc. is recalling certain children’s jackets (style number JK200, JK201, JK403, JK408, JK510, JK612 & JK615) with drawstrings in the hood and some styles at the waist. A total of 1,493 jackets were sold from April 2004 and September 2007.
The jackets have drawstrings that can catch on objects posing a strangulation hazard to children. The risk is neck or waist drawstrings on upper outerwear snagging on playground equipment or school bus doors. The CPSC has issued guidelines to help prevent the risk.
The styles mentioned were sold in stores between July 2004 and September 2007. If you have any old inventory please remove the drawstrings in the hood and/or waist immediately before selling. Please also notify parents and customers to correct the safety hazard by removing the drawstring(s) from the jackets. Children should not wear these jackets until the drawstrings have been removed.
Also, attached is a poster for you to display in the store as a means for consumers to be made aware of the safety recall. We ask that you display the poster in a conspicuous location, i.e. customer service or bulletin board, etc. The CPSC will be monitoring this recall.
For any questions please contact Robert Prescott, president R&D International, Inc. at (719)-539-3812. We appreciate your cooperation in raising awareness for the safety of our children and apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Robert Prescott
president
